Macrocarpa gives out a medium heat. It’s easy to light, but does pop and spark on open fires. Our wood is dry and ready to burn straight away. Tommy’s will not only deliver for free (within the Wellington area) but we’ll stack your wood as well.

Old Man Pine has a higher resin content than younger Pine making it a hotter and longer burner, that gives out a medium heat. It’s easy to light, but the embers won’t last that long, so it’s best to add a hardwood once the fire is going.

Blue Gum gives out a high heat. It’s a long burning hardwood, that is ideal to keep the fire going all night long. At Tommy’s we recommend that Blue Gum is added to an already existing hot fire, otherwise it will be difficult to ignite.
